CMD scientists establishes the final assay protocol including automation and QC criteria for screening in 384-well or 1536-well format. Automation includes the delivery of reagents, incubation timing, reading measurements via a number of different instruments (plate reader or flow cytometer), and data analysis. The center has experience with a variety of whole cell assays, bead-based protein-binding assays, and yeast/bacterial assays.

The screening workflow include primary and dose-response confirmatory assays, and follow up assays for compounds that enter the screening process through the SMR, purchase, or synthesis.
